Collaboration with World Refugee

Founded in 2012, World Refugee is incorporated in the Republic of Singapore under local charity laws.

SSCA will be supporting World Refugee in their efforts to create awareness for alleviating the plight of people displaced by conflict, climate change and natural/man-made calmities.  We will be sending a team down to Philippines & Thailand to conduct show choir workshops for the refugees.

Supporting other Social Causes through the Show Choir Art Form

SSCA is in talks with SPCA to support their World Animal Day in October 2013.  We are also in talks with DaySpring Home for abused Teens to come up with a programme that will expose these abused Teens to the Show Choir Art form.

Formation of New Show Choirs

1. Kids Show Choir
Learning starts from a very young age.  The kids show choir will consist of children between Primary 1 to Primary 6s.  Children who come from families with less well to do financial backgrounds will be able to learn for free.  Others can do so at a nominal fee.  The Kids Show Choir will not only be taught skills to sing and dance in a show choir, but SSCA will also encourage them to give back to society by allowing them to be actively involved in various community involvement projects.
2. Youth Show Choir
The Youth Show Choir will consist of youths between the age of 13-35.  SSCA will conduct auditions across the country to handpick talented youths to be part of the performing team.  The Youth Show Choir Team will be given free show choir lessons.  In order to ensure that their priorities remain correct, we will work with parents to ensure that the youths in our performing team maintain a designated grade in their studies.  SSCA will provide these youths with opportunities to give back to society.
3. Senior Citizens Show Choir
SSCA aims to start a senior citizens show choir.  As our population ages, SSCA believes that the show choir art form will be an excellent way to bridge the community together.  Participants of our kids and youth show choir will be given opportunities to work with the senior citizens.  Senior citizens will be taught to sing and dance to songs that youths listen to, and vice-versa.
4. All Singles Show Choir
(Coming Soon Q4 2013)
5. Domestic Workers Show Choir
(Coming Soon 2014)
